BARi ZIPERSTEIN:
Lectures and WORKSHOPS

As part of the 2018 Portage Ceramic Awards, Te Uru in partnership with Ceramics NZ is pleased to present a national series of workshops and talks with LA-based ceramic artist and this year's judge Bari Ziperstein.

BARI ZIPERSTEIN LECTURE

Ziperstein will present a free lecture providing a rich overview of her practice. Materially experimental but conceptual at its core, her practice engages ideas of consumerism, propaganda, and the built environment. Her objects and sculptural tableaux reflect her interest in the political dimensions of capitalist economies and challenge the construction of desire and aspiration in contemporary American culture through a historical lens.

PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE WORKSHOPS

At three venues across the country, Ziperstein will take intimate round-table discussion groups though her successful business model, covering how she got from A-B professionally in both her exhibiting practice and commercial design work. This is a unique opportunity of professional development for anyone interested in art and ceramics. Please register for this free event as spaces are limited. Bari travels to Aotearoa New Zealand as judge of the Portage Ceramic Awards, organised by Te Uru.
