On the first Wednesday of every month, gallery staff give a free exhibition tour for older folk and friends who enjoy a casual chat about art. Afterwards, why not visit our Lopdell Precinct neighbours and enjoy the views from historic Lopdell House, visit The Upstairs Gallery, or grab a bite a Deco Eatery.
In our September session, we'll discuss From the Shore, an exhibition that considers the influences of Maori filmmakers Barry Barclay and Merata Mita, and brings together contemporary works that echo their strategies and philosophies.
October's tour explores Envoys Onwards, an exhibition of original postcards celebrating the 125th anniversary of women's emancipation.
In November, we'll look at Maureen Lander's Flat-Pack Whakapapa, three installations that explore the connections between whakapapa and raranga (Maori weaving).
