Join Charlotte Vaillant who has studied fashion design and model making in Haute Couture University of Paris. She loves to learn and discover new techniques to pass on to others, and has a unique background in fashion art making, exquisite embroideries of sequins, seed beads and feathers. Charlotte has made embroideries and dresses for Haute Couture houses like Chanel, Dior, Givenchy and Jean-Paul Gaultier.
This is a rare opportunity to work alongside a highly skilled person in the fashion art industry. This is a beginner level workshop open to people with basic hand sewing skills. You will learn about sequins and beads embroideries which are present in Haute Couture. Over the weekend you will learn specialist techniques starting with abstract designs then moving into patterns such as flowers, animals, geometric patterns or with your own patterns. You will get an understanding of the history of this artform through to contemporary embroideries.
