Celebrating its first concert in the stunning Te Uru Waitakere Contemporary Gallery, NZTrio — New Zealand’s foremost piano trio — will perform a programme that, in typical NZTrio-style, smashes traditional preconceptions of classical music. Presented especially for the Titirangi Festival of Music, this superbly curated collection of musical works for violin, cello and piano is eclectic and international, bringing together new and old, with powerful emotion and delicate rhythms.
Joining founding member of NZTrio, Ashley Brown (cello) for this programme are Andrew Beer (violin) and Stephen De Pledge (piano). This powerhouse ensemble of New Zealand’s best have each played extensively throughout North America, Europe, Asia and Australasia, with performances broadcast on TV and radio networks worldwide, and have multiple recordings and accolades to their names.
The relaxed setting of Te Uru’s Gallery 2 will allow audiences to experience fabulous live music surrounded by fascinating photographs from Gavin Hipkins new exhibition, The Homely II.
Programme details and tickets will be available from Eventfinda from mid-February 2019.
