Drop-in Open Studio: Theo Schoon
Create your own special gourd print, inspired by Theo Schoon’s intricately carved gourds and the Māori legend about Hine-pu-te-hue, the daughter of Tane and ataua (goddess) of peace who helped to diffuse the anger of the gods after the separation or Ranginui and Papatuanuku. Start with embossing a foam plate with an outline of a gourd shape to fill with your own unique designs to ink up and print from.
