Join visual artist and educator Zoë Nash in this 6-week energetic, fun course that takes inspiration from the natural world. Experimenting with a range of mixed media and innovative techniques, we look at multiple ways to illustrate, represent and celebrate a myriad of plant life. Explore a range of drawing and painting tools and methods, surfaces, formats and sizes. Alongside core group activities there will also be the chance to develop a longer, self-directed project. By the end of the course, participants will have a greater appreciation of botanical study, have gained confidence in their mark making, and have the momentum to continue making art beyond the classroom.
Fridays 1 November – 13 December 10am–1pm (note: no class Friday 22 November)
Six sessions $240. Includes most materials
Drop by to watch or book in to participate in a unique screen printing workshop facilitated by artist/designer/activist Chris McBride, where we will take a collaborative approach to designing and screen printing a poster considering our place in the Pacific and the continuation of a non-nuclear future. This workshop will act as a forerunner to our upcoming exhibition The Future of Our Kids, exploring the anti-nuclear movement in Aotearoa. Chris is an arts manager/consultant, curator and former member of the Wellington Media Collective.
