Te Uru is part of the Lopdell Precinct, an arts and culture facility in Titirangi Village, West Auckland. The precinct is made up of three buildings: The Treasure House, Lopdell House and Te Uru Waitakere Contemporary Gallery. After undergoing a recent redevelopment the historic Lopdell House is home to The Upstairs Art Gallery, The Titirangi Theatre, McCahon House Trust, Deco Eatery and up to 11 local small businesses.
Te Uru is open Tuesday-Sunday and some of our Precinct neighbours are also open on Monday. Come and visit our neighbourhood to enjoy great exhibitions, theatre shows or grab a coffee and take in the stunning views from the roof terrace of historic Lopdell House. For bookings, enquiries or to keep up with activities happening around Lopdell Precinct, you can get in touch through the Precinct website or Facebook page.
Set in the original Hotel Titirangi dining room, previously home to Lopdell House Gallery, Deco is a newcomer to Titirangi, offering fresh fare inspired by flavours of the Mediterranean. Open for early morning coffees, late snacks and a drink, and everything in between. For bookings, menus and opening hours, visit their website here.
The McCahon House Trust was set up to preserve the small house in French Bay where the artist, Colin McCahon, and his family lived, and to establish a residency in his honour. The McCahon House Trust office is in Lopdell House, the McCahon House Museum and Artists' Residency is in French Bay. Visit their website here.
The Upstairs Art Gallery is a not-for-profit community art gallery, governed by the Titirangi Community Arts Council (TCAC), funded partly by Auckland Council and charged with promoting arts at a local level. Their gallery is on level one of Lopdell House. Visit their website here.
