KEEPING YOU SAFE

In accordance with current government guidelines, masks are no longer required when visiting Te Uru. We still encourage mask use in crowded situations or if you are at a higher risk of severe illness. We will be operating on a safety-first basis, taking all possible precautions to reduce further spread of the disease.

Vaccine passes, scanning and masks are no longer required but, for everyone’s safety, we will continue to take precautions where we can. This will ensure Te Uru is as safe as we can make it, and accessible for as many in our community as possible. The wellbeing of visitors and staff is our top priority, and it’s important our community knows that Te Uru is a safe space.

When visiting, please use our main front entrance on Titirangi Road, where we can offer any assistance you may need, including exhibition information, bag and umbrella storage, masks and hand sanitiser.

Some of our frontline staff will still choose to wear masks and we respect that some of our visitors will also choose to do so. We recommend you consider mask use in the following situations:

• If you are a household contact of a case
• If you are at higher risk of severe illness
• If you want to reduce your risk of becoming unwell
• There are many vulnerable people present in an indoor space
• In a crowded or confined environment, especially public transport and flights

Please stay home if you’re feeling unwell, and consider getting a test. For those that are unable to visit, we’ll continue to offer online resources for our exhibitions and education activities, displays in our front window, and contactless shopping options.

When open we’ll be taking the following precautions so you can enjoy a safe visit to the gallery:

• Regular cleaning of all door handles, hand rails, elevator buttons, chairs/benches and bathrooms
• Contactless pay systems in the shop
• Fresh air is circulated by our HVAC system
• Further air ventilation is provided by opening windows where this is possible, including the classroom
• Hand sanitiser is available on arrival and in other locations in the gallery

We request that visitors continue to maintain safe distancing while in the gallery – especially from anyone you don’t know. Where possible, events will be seated and spaced out in accordance with government guidelines – please arrive early to ensure your place or book in advance when this option is available.
